I build backend systems that still make sense six months after launch.
Product Engineer focused on TypeScript/Node.js backends, PostgreSQL data models and self-hosted infrastructure. Currently building toward Data Engineering.
Tech Stack
Tools only matter as long as the system stays understandable, robust and maintainable.
Projects
One real-world example of the current stack, plus two mobile and utility products.
endlichspanien.com
Content and lead platform for German-speaking emigrants to Spain — conceived, built and operated end to end, from idea to production.
Mobile & Utility — earlier focus
Process
Clear thinking first. Then architecture, implementation and stable operation — like a deploy pipeline.
Understand
Clarify what actually needs solving before writing code.
Design
Make architecture, data flow, risks and constraints visible early.
Build
Develop, test and refine iteratively, in clear, traceable steps.
Operate
Software only counts once it stays understandable and maintainable in production.
About
Software engineering with a product perspective — not just from the code's point of view.
I'm Oliver Drewing, a Product Engineer focused on backend systems, data models and architectures that hold up under real conditions.
My path into software came through production management in film and TV — structure, responsibility under time pressure, and clear communication across many stakeholders still shape how I set up projects and support teams today.
I'm currently deepening my skills in Data Engineering — a natural extension of my work with PostgreSQL and data-driven backends.
